Meet With This Astonishing Black-Throated Bushtit And Yes, You Read That Correctly

This little bird is named the black-throated Bushtit due to its black colored throat. Sometimes, people called it the black-throated tit, this gorgeous bird is only about 10.5 cm (4 inches) long and weights 4-9 grams (0.14-0.317 ounces).

Taiwanese wildlife photographer Chen Chengguang, an expert who specialized in bird photography, has taken photos of these birds in ways that truly do them justice. The fluffy, multi-colored plumage is so famous in Chengguang’s photos that you may wonder what it feels like to pet these lovable creatures.

The bird’s habitat extends from the foothills of the Himalayas, across northern India to northeastern Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, northern Myanmar, Vietnam, and Taiwan. Scattered populations have also been observed in southern Vietnam, Hainan Island and the Yellow River region further north in China.

They mostly live in open broad-leaved forests as well as pine forests, usually at mid-altitudes. This kind is very social and is known to travel in large flocks of up to 40 birds.

Their diet consists of insects as well as small seeds and fruits. They love raspberries.
