A Woman Spends The Night In A Shelter With A Dog In His Last Moments

A defeated and dying shelter dog had a true angel stand by his side through that harsh trance before he crossed the rainbow.

Janine Guido, founder of Speranza Animal Rescue, was the woman who decided to spend the entire night at the shelter, so as not to separate from the furry one who needed so much love and comfort.

It was only enough for her to see him on the verge of losing the battle to know that she would not leave him alone. She accompanied him until he closed his little eyes even if that meant keeping one of the most painful memories of his life.

The woman spent the whole night by her side so that the terminal puppy did not die alone

Watson had been staying at a veterinarian where he received 24-hour medical attention after a young man found him completely alone and injured in a park in Philadelphia, United States.

The state of health of the puppy was completely heartbreaking, he was emaciated, his little body was covered with sores that had become infected, he also had a large cancerous tumor in one of his hind legs.

Watson seemed to have given up.

Unfortunately, his cancer had spread throughout his body and he could only hope for the worst to happen. Faced with the devastating diagnosis, he was transferred to the shelter where Janine took care of him.

“The first thing I noticed about him were his eyes. He looked exhausted, like he was ready to give up the fight,” Janine commented.

Watson looked tired, his eyes were empty and sad, the best thing his caregivers could do was accompany him and give him all the love in the world in his last hours.

Fortunately, there are earthly angels willing to do anything for the most vulnerable puppies, this time it was a woman who made a puppy feel loved and comfortable in his hours of agony. In this regard, Janine commented:

“I had an intuition that things were not going to be good the next day. She didn’t want to leave him alone. Not when he needed me most.”

That day, when night came, the woman collected several sheets, quilts and pillows to make a bed and put them in the laundry room of the rescue center.

The volunteer stayed lying down next to the puppy, speaking softly to reassure him and giving him tender caresses.

The dying puppy fell exhausted in her arms, despite being sore he felt serene and comfortable, almost immediately he fell asleep. Janine stayed with him through the night and watched over what would be his last dream.

“he slept like a rock all night, snuggled up against me so tight. I cried myself to sleep and woke up crying too,” Janine said.

This may have been the first time the little dog slept comfortably and in the arms of someone offering him genuine, sincere love.

The next day, Watson woke up but was even more weakened than the day before. He did not eat, nor did he sleep; With the little strength he had left, he began to spin in circles. Sadly, within a few hours he crossed the rainbow bridge.

Watson met true love before he left

On his last night, the beautiful Watson received all the cares of a woman who, despite not knowing him, was willing to accompany him and love him unconditionally.

For Janine, the impact of that night is something she will never forget. We are sure that, although Watson knew true love for a short time, during his lifetime it also meant a lot to him. Finally, Janine highlighted:

“I am so grateful that I was able to hold him tight on his last night. She was telling him how much she loved him, and that his life mattered. My heart is breaking but I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Janine is infinitely grateful to have been able to provide this noble creature with a brief ray of light that filled the last hours of her time on earth with love.

Rest in peace Watson! You won your wings and with your beautiful paws you climbed the stairway to heaven.

The life of puppies is very short, I hope that all the furry ones in the world spend their days enjoying true love.
